Guests say

Ravenscroft is a well-received holiday cottage in Windermere, praised for its spaciousness, comfortable accommodation, and well-equipped kitchen. Its location is ideal for exploring both Windermere and Bowness. While some minor maintenance issues and cleaning oversights are mentioned, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests planning to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found Ravenscroft to be clean and tidy, with only a few mentioning dust, cobwebs, or dog hairs. The majority of reviews reflect satisfaction with the cleanliness, suggesting these instances are exceptions rather than the norm.

The location is highly praised for being conveniently situated between Windermere and Bowness, with easy access to local attractions and amenities. The proximity to both towns and the availability of nearby walks contribute to its high rating.

Guests consistently describe the property as comfortable, with special mentions of the comfortable beds and the warmth of the house. The spaciousness and the provision of en-suite bathrooms for each room add to the comfort level. However, some guests noted issues with lounge heating and bedroom blinds.

The facilities at Ravenscroft are generally well-regarded, especially the kitchen. However, there are comments about the need for maintenance, such as updating showers and ensuring all lights work. The lack of a secure garden for pets and the absence of a tumble dryer were also noted.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the property owners. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

For our purposes, a family party and get-together it was ideal. We did note that the middle bedroom shower leaks and there is a stain on the dining room ceiling below. The main light in the back bedroom ensuite isn't working and there seems to be a leak in the ceiling . Wifi is extremely weak upstairs. There are not enough beer glasses, the downstairs toilet had no towel nor any spare toilet roll and both dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid ran out almost immediately. The broken chair propped up on its detached leg in the lounge fortunately did not cause an accident!

Great property, ideally located. Well equipped and spacious. Modern kitchen, very large living room.

Although we were near a main road ,there was little traffic noise. Some areas of property needed revamping and cleaning. Beds comfortable. We were frightened to close the curtains as they were too heavy for the rails ,and on our arrival found they had fallen down in one of the bedrooms, but after reporting this, the maintenance men came pretty quickly, but we thought this should have been addressed BEFORE our arrival There are notices ALL over the property requesting visitors to be quiet, due to neighbours having children, and having to to get up for work, with a special notice stating equipment has been installed to monitor the noise level, so it felt like Big Brother watching. Our party consisted of 4 ladies all over 65 and we felt quite intimidated by this ,as we have never experienced this in all the time we have rented accommodation If there is a family or large party thinking of renting we feel they should be made aware of this as it is not stated in the property write up.
